In less than a month, nearly all city firearm ordinances will be nullified and permitless carry will be the law of the land. This means cities will no longer be able to enforce ordinances like banning convicted stalkers from carrying guns or demanding people have training and background checks when carrying a gun in the city.
We’d like to take a moment and recognize the people that really made this possible, Omaha Metro senators. The 4 of you did your part to grease this right on out of committee. The people sent to represent the most densely populated part of our state, made it possible to pass the bill known as LB77, permitless carry and firearm preemption.
If you click on the committee report, you can see who greased this bill onto the floor, making it the first bill to pass in the state legislature in 2023. Here’s a screenshot below to save you the trouble.
